The solution for treating fat on the site of the waste water treatment plant itself

Fat is a recurrent problem

In the agri-food sector, manufacturers are encountering increasing difficulties in relation to the treatment of their waste water, and more precisely in the elimination of fatty matter. Fat is organic matter which is not very biodegradable. It causes the following: blockage problems in pipes, the reduction in performance of the water treatment plants, the appearance of foam, foul-smelling odours, etc. Fat is present in the waste water of the majority of the food industries (abattoirs, chocolate factories, dairies, etc.). The fat is not treated by the waste water treatment plant, it must be set aside and removed via another process.

As a specialist in the cleaning and treatment of waste water, the company Realco continues to invest massively in research in order to offer innovative products and solutions to tackle the complex problem encountered by manufacturers. It is within this context that it has developed a new enzymatic process in the treatment of fat in the waste water treatment plants.

This discovery has allowed it to create the first waste water treatment plant with the HYDRAMAX enzymatic process.

A new approach in the construction and adaptation of waste water treatment plants

The innovation: the fat treatment is carried out directly on the waste water treatment plant site.

By opting for the enzymatic process, the waste water treatment system is significantly simplified. All of the waste water is now treated in a single tank. There is no longer any need to go through a separator and add flocculants to separate the fat from the water. The fat is firstly hydrolysed by the enzymatic process before going through the biological tank to continue with the system for treating the waste water plant's water.

This new process can be perfectly adapted to the existing waste water treatment plants

Advantages:

-        There is no longer any need to go through an intermediate tank to separate the fat from the water. Now this separator tank uses a lot of energy and therefore represents a significant cost when it is working.

-        Flocculants need no longer be used. They are replaced by adding enzymes at a lower cost.

-        The fat no longer has to be removed from the waste water treatment plant.
